Boiler or hybrid?
In a well insulated house a hybrid heat pump next to the boiler can save a lot of gas, often half. With a subsidy it usually pays for itself in 6 to 9 years.
In a draughty 1930s house without cavity wall insulation, a new high-efficiency boiler is often the smarter step. Insulate first, the heat pump can come later.
How the installation works
Replacing a boiler takes us one day. We start at half past seven and by around four you have hot water again. We take the old boiler away.
Afterwards we show you how the thermostat works and how to top up the pressure yourself. People often forget that last bit, yet low pressure is the fault we get called out for most.
