What you can do right away
Turn off the main stopcock. In most houses in Haarlem it sits in the meter cupboard, in older buildings sometimes in the cellar or the crawl space. If water is getting near sockets or the fuse box, switch the power off as well.
Take a few photos before you start mopping. Your insurer will almost always ask for them.
How an emergency call-out works
You report the problem, we ask what's going on and give you a time. The plumber rings ahead when he's on his way. On site he finds the cause first, tells you the price of the repair and only starts once you agree.
Sometimes it can’t be done in one visit, for example when part of the floor has to come up. Then we make it watertight first and plan the rest with you.
