How we clear it
Usually a drain snake or a high-pressure jetter does the job. If the blockage comes back, we put a camera down the pipe. That tells us whether something is broken, or the pipe just doesn't slope enough.
Prevention is easier
Don't pour frying fat down the sink, not even with hot water after it. It sets further down the pipe. Wet wipes don't dissolve either, even when the pack says 'flushable'.
