A blockage is nearly always the same story: fat in the kitchen drain, wet wipes in the toilet, hair in the shower. Sometimes it's a root that has grown through an old clay pipe in the garden. That we only see with the camera.
Usually a drain snake or a high-pressure jetter does the job. If the blockage comes back, we put a camera down the pipe. That tells us whether something is broken, or the pipe just doesn't slope enough.
Don't pour frying fat down the sink, not even with hot water after it. It sets further down the pipe. Wet wipes don't dissolve either, even when the pack says 'flushable'.
Of course. A plunger and a bucket of hot water with washing soda solve a lot. Avoid harsh drain cleaners, they damage old pipes.
